As told by our founder, Cathy Rogers
Cathy & Jeff Rogers
RawRawLand came to life when I was looking for an organic snack for my husband, Jeff. At the time, Jeff was recovering from a quadruple-bypass heart operation.
He was craving a salty, crunchy snack after his surgery. I found him eating potato chips and cookies! I knew this wasn’t a healthy solution, so I decided to find another way.
After searching high and low in the grocery store aisles, I discovered that every snack was loaded with too much sugar and salt.
I believed there needed to be a snack available to everyone that was delicious and satisfying, but also low in sugar, high in protein, and crafted with real ingredients.

Soon enough, I was on the hunt for only the best organic, local ingredients. In those days, you’d often find me in the kitchen, pounding chicken on the counter to make our first few batches of Chicken Crisps. It took two entire days to dehydrate the chicken in my oven, but I did it!
When my husband finally had his first taste, he encouraged me to bring my Chicken Crisps into stores.
After nine years perfecting the recipe and going through rounds of approvals with the USDA, RawRawLand was born.
“My journey creating RawRawLand has taught me that if you really want to do something, you just do it! Keep persevering.”

Meet Cathy!

Cathy & Desi
Cathy has spent a lifetime dedicated to the art of food and cooking. After experiencing a devastating loss in her life, she found that bringing the joy of cooking to others helped her through her grief. She first started teaching cooking classes to a small group of close girlfriends, and as time passed, she was asked to teach at UCLA Extension. Since then, she has led cooking classes at Sur La Table, Let’s Get Cookin’, and Silversea Cruises.
Cathy’s commitment to giving back to others and living a positive life has been unwavering. When the Old Topanga Wildfire struck the Malibu, California, community in the early 90s, Cathy created a cookbook to raise funds for the over 400 families who had lost their homes in the fire. Malibu’s Cooking Again brings together recipes by everyone, from local firefighters to gourmet chefs.
The second edition of Malibu’s Cooking Again, dedicated to victims of the recent Woolsey Fire in November 2018, is now available! Order your copy of Malibu’s Cooking Again 2 on Amazon here.
